When and how to cross the state border
Before planning your arrival in Slovenia, obtain information about the current situation and the measures in place at the country’s national borders. Certain limitations are in place for most visitors, and there are some exceptions. Among other measures, the following applies:
Individuals coming from a country or region on the red list must quarantine for 10 full days. As of 15 May, quarantine may be terminated after five days provided that the individual submits a negative PCR test. An individual who submits:
Certificate of positive result of a PCR test that is older than 10 days and not older than six months, or medical certificate of recovery from COVID-19, if not more than six months have elapsed since the beginning of symptoms.
is not required to quarantine for 10 days.
As of 28 April, checkpoints on road connections in the border area with Italy and Austria are abolished. Checkpoints on the border with Hungary remain in force, i.e.:
